  This charming hotel occupies a handsome 17th-century building and has been run by the same family for four generations. Located on a quiet side street on the Left Bank, within easy walking distance of the Seine, it makes a great base from which to explore the French capital, especially given the friendly and attentive service. There are 31 characterful bedrooms (including some triple and family rooms), all individually styled and many with beams. All are equipped with a hairdryer, flat-screen television, minibar, safe, WiFi and air conditioning, though it's worth noting only the upgraded Superior rooms can have separate beds. Breakfast is served in the atmospheric vaulted cellar and there is a small but pleasant lounge with exposed stonework and a fireplace.
