A Short Cycle through Catalonia

Past stone villages to golden sands
You stay in a hand-picked hotel and a friendly guesthouse: one inland and one by the sea.

Occasionally, when Hostal Blau is full, we use our hand-picked alternative hotel. There may be a price implication, which will be discussed with you at the time of booking.

Hostal Blau (guesthouse), Peratallada

Meal arrangements: breakfast only

Hostal Blau
This small welcoming guesthouse is situated in the heart of the village of Peratallada, a gastronomic mecca in the heart of Catalonia. The comfortable rooms are decorated in vibrant colours, though we recommend upgrading to a room with a terrace to enjoy spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. Your stay here is on a bed-and-breakfast basis as there is a wealth of excellent restaurants to choose from for dinner.

Mas Rabiol (3* agroturismo), near Peratallada

Alternative accommodation
Meal arrangements: dinner & breakfast

Mas Rabiol
You will be warmly welcomed by Gloria and Carlos to their traditional Catalan farmhouse, now a charming country home. Your hosts may not speak a great deal of English, but this is more than offset by their generosity and enthusiasm, and by their home-cooked dinners, which are served either in the authentic, beamed dining room or on the terrace outside. Bedrooms here are traditional, with exposed stone floors and wooden beams, and decorated in a rustic style, and there is a comfortable lounge for guests to relax in. The real highlight, however, is the lovely garden, which features a large outdoor pool and is a real haven of tranquillity.

Hotel Terramar (3*), Llafranc

Meal arrangements: dinner & breakfast

Hotel Terramar
This comfortable hotel enjoys an excellent location right on the seafront promenade, and both the restaurant and our included bedrooms (which all have a balcony, air-conditioning, hairdryer, minibar and satellite television) face the sea. Old photos hung on the walls give a sense of the history of the Terramar, which dates back to 1934.
