How our cycling holidays in Spain are graded

Thanks to the gentle terrain of our chosen regions, you can enjoy a cycling holiday in Spain even if you’re just an occasional cyclist, especially since electric (e-)bikes are available as an upgrade on most holidays. However, to be sure of choosing the holiday that’s right for you, you should familiarise yourself with our grading system below. (Our grades are based on using a ‘regular’ bike, so if you choose an e-bike, bear in mind that the cycling will be considerably easier.)

Grade 1

Easy cycling for all with shorter days mainly on the flat, but some gentle ascents.
Grade 1-2

Easy-to-moderate cycling featuring undulating routes with more frequent short ascents, and a mix of shorter and longer days.
Grade 2

Moderate cycling with some longer, steady uphill sections, and longer days.
Grade 2-3

Fairly strenuous cycling featuring longer days with some sustained climbs. (We don't currently have any holidays at this level.)
