French cycling holidays

One reason to choose an Inntravel cycling holiday in France is the chance to see an area up close. Our meticulously planned routes (described in easy-to-read notes) are short enough that you don’t have to rush. And because there’s no group, no arrangements to make (we do all that), and no luggage, you can make impromptu stops at castles, vineyards and viewpoints, all of which makes for a memorable French cycling holiday.

How our French cycling holidays are graded

Thanks to the Tour de France, cyclists are treated with great respect, making French cycling holidays a real joy. We are experts in French cycling holidays, and have something for all levels of ‘amateur’. To be sure of choosing the French cycling holiday that is right for you, read how we grade them below, or consider upgrading to an electric (e-)bike. (Our grading system assumes you are using a ‘regular’ bike, so if you choose an e-bike, bear in mind that the cycling will be considerably easier.)
  • Easy cycling for all with shorter days mainly on the flat, but some gentle ascents.
  • Easy-to-moderate cycling featuring undulating routes with more frequent short ascents, and a mix of shorter and longer days.
  • Moderate cycling with some longer, steady uphill sections, and longer days.
  • Fairly strenuous cycling featuring longer days with some sustained climbs. (We don't currently have any holidays at this level.)

What to expect from your French cycling holiday

There are three key elements which are common to all Inntravel holidays, including our French cycling holidays: magnificent landscapes; charming accommodation hand-picked for its friendly welcome; and flavoursome local cuisine.
