All 3 walkable cities with central hotels
We felt that the whole package worked really well. Each stage of the trip went smoothly and the differnt modes of travel gave a broader view of the countries we visited.
Copenhagan: The design museum was a great hit.
Stockholm: The museum of modern art was very good. A lovely walk there and round the island.
The ferry ride from Stockholm to Helsinki: Watching the sun setting as we sailed through the islands was magical.
Helsinki: Great modern architecture. Especially the new library. National gallery over the road from the railway station. The Botanical gardens. Cafe Ursula. A lovely place to sit by the shore. Buffet lunch looked excellent.
Really good organisation and very friendly people in your office whilst we're deciding on which holiday to choose.
All 3 hotels were brilliantly placed allowing us to walk straight out from the door into great locations.
One thing we found in Helsinki was that all the museums and some of your recommended restaurants were closed on Mondays. It might help to know this in advance.

It was a really interesting trip and we thoroughly enjoyed each of the cities which had something different to offor. We would recommend the boat trips, the food markets and visits to the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, the Abba Museum in Stockholm and the lido/saunas in Helsinki which were a lot of fun. The National Museum of Finland was really interesting as we didn't really know anything about Finnish history. And take a lightweight raincoat because when it rains, it really pours!
Certainly the Vasa museum in Stockholm is worth a water taxi for, which you can then take to Gamla Stan. An evening in Nyhavn, Copenhagn, is very pleasant in the sunshine.
This was an extremely well organised holiday with excellent walking notes for each capital.
We were glad we added an extra night in Stockholm because it gave us a bit more down time away from the travelling.
Copenhagen - jazz festival! Design museum, walking around the Kastelllet area, favourite restaurant Fuego.
Stockholm - Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde gallery, tour of parliament very interesting!!, saliing thrugh the archipelago with a flat calm sea, and good weather.

Helsinki - Design museum, walking the Esplanadi, favourite restaurant Ravintola Merimakasiini
Two things to note - 1. major building and roadworks in Stockholm between Gamla Stan and Sodermalm making a visit to the latter on foot very difficult. Roadworks also in Helsinki. 2. Many restaurants shut Sundays/Mondays so those open get very booked up - we got the last table on our Sunday in Helsinki.
We think the main highlight of the holiday was connected to the Changing of the Guard at the Stockholm Royal Palace. We saw it on our second day there. That evening we were exploring the area roundabout the hotel and heard a military band. Following the sound we found a group in civillian clothes practising in the Army Museum grounds just round the corner from the hotel. Next morning breakfast was very busy. As we were making our way through the reception area we found out why, there were a group of military band personnel in full dress uniforms waiting there and in conversation we found they were the group we had seen practising the previous evening. They were to be the Band for that days Changing of the Guard. We saw them perform in the Army Museum ground for an hour and March Off at midday leading the new Guard en route to the Palace. We also saw them return to the hotel three and a half hours later having been out in the heat of the day throughout and playing most of that time. A very hard days work. They were very pleased we had taken the trouble to watch and admire them.
A good way of getting a taste of three contrasting Nordic cities. All hotels are central for sight seeing with good public transport connections and lots of places to eat. The train and ferry journeys offer the opportunity to see more of the area whilst travelling comfortably.
The holiday was excellent and the walks were of particular use, I would definitely recommend following these. The hotels were lovely and well situated.

Highlights: Copenhagen: canal boat trip, good to do as soon as possible to get the layout of the city. A very easy and relaxed atmostphere, everyone very helpful and friendly.
Stockholm: A much busier city. Nobel Prize museum excellent, well worth a visit, also the Vasa museum.
Hop on Hop off bus service not very reliable/ frequent, may have been problems the day we were there. Also in Stcokholm and Helsinki there are 2 Hop on / off bus companies, the 'Red' company does not accept the City passes, but they do seem very efficient and more frequent!

We really enjoyed our family trip to the three Nordic cities. The Inntravel team was very responsive in the post-covid world of everyone wishing to book a holiday abroad, particularly on the phone, and they seem to be the exception rather than the rule in having planned ahead to provide a sufficient number of friendly, knowledgable staff to meet the demand. And they were always unflustered!
The trip itself was really interesting, the three cities all beautiful in their own unique ways, and the hotels improved as we went along. The overnight on the ship was a very enjoyable journey in the long Summer evening light, and a fun experience for our teenagers.
It is also refreshing to find a travel agency which offers good green alternatives to self-guided car journeys.
Inntravel was great at creating a custom holiday for us based on two of their standard offerings. They covered every detail, and we were well-prepared beforehand. When one of the flights they booked was cancelled due to an airline strike, Inntravel went above and beyond in making very satisfactory alternate arrangements.
We are so pleased we got an introduction to three Nordic cities. Helsinki was our favorite; when we returned there at the end of our holiday we just wandered the neighborhoods, gaped at the architecture (and snuck into a few private but interesting old buildings!) and sat on the Esplanade and watched the local life go on. Next time (!) we'll plan for more days in any city we visit.
And the Lofotens are spectacular, and different from any other place we've been before. The walking tour (Journey to Å) wasn't a great fit because we had expected, and would prefer, a less crowded setting and simple, casual meals, more fitting to the rugged setting, rather than gourmet dining in a resort setting.
