Where to go cycling in Catalonia

For leisurely, varied cycling, Catalonia (Catalunya) is hard to beat, and we know the best cycling Catalonia has to offer. Choose Empordà and the Costa Brava for a combination of medieval villages, Surrealist art and time by the sea. Or head to the Garrotxa for scenery of wooded volcanoes and ancient stone settlements.

Are our cycling holidays in Catalonia right for you?

We have designed our cycling holidays in Catalonia with occasional cyclists in mind. Distances are short, and you cycle largely on the flat, and electric (e-)bikes are available as an upgrade. To be sure of choosing the holiday that’s right for you, you should familiarise yourself with our grading system below, which is based on use of 'regular' bikes; if you choose an e-bike, you'll find the cycling considerably easier.
  • Easy cycling for all with shorter days mainly on the flat, but some gentle ascents.
  • Easy-to-moderate cycling featuring undulating routes with more frequent short ascents, and a mix of shorter and longer days.
  • Moderate cycling with some longer, steady uphill sections, and longer days.
  • Fairly strenuous cycling featuring longer days with some sustained climbs. (We don't currently have any holidays at this level.)
