Ibiza is an island of two halves

While the party set frequents the south-west, the north-east remains tranquil and unspoiled, characterised by secret coves, panoramic headlands, old stone watchtowers, and an interior of pine-clad hills dotted with isolated farmsteads and sleepy villages.
It could be the whitewashed houses of these villages which earned Ibiza the title ‘The White Isle’, but equally it could be the early-morning mists or the salt which brought prosperity to the island in centuries past. Whatever the origin of the sobriquet, The White Isle – along with its laid-back neighbour, Formentera – is a great choice for leisurely walking.
