The 2008/2009 autumn/winter edition of Walking and More is full of tempting ideas for walking and exploring in the warmth of southern Europe and Morocco. Choose to walk along the colourful levada paths of Madeira, to cycle across Mallorca’s idyllic and little-discovered central plain, or to discover the dramatic landscapes of La Palma, a walker’s paradise, in the Canary Islands.

New holidays include a thrilling cycle ride amid the hills of southern Spain, with the chance to discover some of Andalucia’s most atmospheric pueblos blancos (white towns), and a three-night break at an enchanting mountain hotel in Mallorca, from where your charming host will lead you on two guided walks that reveal the very best of the island’s rugged mountains, sweeping sea views and fragrant citrus groves. We have also introduced a new type of holiday, city walking, on which you spend two nights in each of three fascinating cities, with detailed notes to guide you round each city on foot, discovering not only the must-see sights, but also secret corners and hidden architectural gems. In Spain, you can visit Seville, Córdoba and Granada, while our Italian holiday links Verona, Bologna and Venice.

Whichever holiday you choose, you will find it great value for money – as well as accommodation, our prices (with the exception of self-catering discovery walks) include breakfast every day and, in most cases, several or all dinners. They also include all the little ‘extras’ that help you to gain maximum enjoyment from your holiday: detailed route notes and maps, and luggage transfers and picnics where necessary.
