Spain - Mallorca & the Canary Islands
Dramatic Islands
Mountains & Villages of Mallorca
Grade 1 & 2 walks 7 nights characterful hotels flexible walking - choose how much you do
The rugged Tramuntana Sierra surprises the first-time visitor with its dramatic fusion of mountains and coast. This beautiful sierra offers the island's best walking – here, old paved mule tracks wind through wooded valleys, between terraces of olive and citrus groves, and high above the coast. Our walk follows scenic trails that link some of the island's most picturesque towns and villages – Fornalutx, Sóller, Deià and Valldemossa – where you stay at a unique selection of charming hotels. We have designed the itinerary to be as flexible as possible – choose six days of rewarding walking or a mix of walking and sightseeing.
For late autumn, winter & spring.
Available 1 October-30 November 2007 & 1 February-14 June & 13 September-30 November 2008.

Citrus Groves & Dramatic Coast
Grade 1 & 2 discovery 7 nights at a high-quality hotel walk & explore at your own pace, using the excellent public transport
Mallorca’s most dramatic scenery – and its prettiest villages – are to be found in the Tramuntana Sierra in the north-west of the island. Here, charming Sóller, a bustling place nestling in a fertile, bowl-shaped valley planted with citrus groves, makes a great base for walking and exploring using the efficient and widespread network of buses, trams and trains (or inexpensive taxis). We provide detailed notes for a wide range of scenic walking routes.
For autumn, late winter & spring.
Available 1 October-30 November 2007 & 1 February-30 June & 1 September-30 November 2008.

Tenerife & El Teide
Grade 2-3 discovery • 7 nights • breathtaking views • option to ascend to Spain's highest peak
With expanses of black sand, green pine forests, red rock formations, charcoal-grey lava fields and white clouds which sometimes billow like a skirt around the waist of El Teide, Spain’s highest peak, Tenerife is an island of many different colours. It is also an island of stark contrasts, its topography as dramatic as the volcanic activity that shaped it so many millennia ago, and walking here is immensely rewarding.
