Offering gentle walking alongside glittering lakes and in the high mountains (which you reach by cable car), our route is a relaxed discovery of the dramatic, almost fjord-like landscapes south-east of Salzburg, plus the idyllic village of Hallstatt. This is an area steeped in tradition, and the comfortable hotels offer typical Austrian fare with an accent on fish from the lakes.

The Leutasch Valley

Leutaschtal is a long and beautiful valley arching down to the Bavarian border. The circuit includes two nights at each of three atmospheric hotels with wide-ranging facilities, returning to the starting point for the final night. Despite the high altitude, the walking, along well waymarked paths, is accessible to all of average fitness, with some fine routes through forests and Alpine pastures.
