Norway

It is impossible to tire of Norway’s magical landscapes, the grandeur of which is at once awe-inspiring and humbling. There is an astonishing variety, too – from dramatic wildernesses to serene fjords, and from Arctic islands to enthralling cities. You cannot fail to be moved by such a place, and a holiday to Norway is an unforgettable experience.

High-quality hotels

Norway is a high-quality destination, with accommodation to match. Though generally larger than those we seek out elsewhere, our featured hotels are friendly and comfortable, typically of 3- or 4-star standard ( Norway has no star-rating system). Norwegian cuisine is generally of good quality too, with excellent fish dishes often served as part of generous buffet spreads.

Warm summer days

We offer two splendid walks in the fjord regions, plus a discovery holiday on the Lofoten Islands. Summer is pleasantly mild and, in the south and fjords, not unlike that of Britain. On the Lofoten Islands, the Gulf Stream influence means that extremes of temperature are rare, and the Midnight Sun brings 24 hours of daylight from early June until mid-July. Such weather is perfect for enjoying the outdoor life. Our holidays run from May or June until mid or late September. Many visitors choose mid-June to mid-August, but late August and September have their charms too, not least a wonderful tranquillity and the first colours of autumn.
