Pricing & General Information Your holiday price Your holiday priceAll prices on our website are expressed (unless otherwise stated) in £ per person based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Meal arrangements are described below the price panel for each holiday. We do not include drinks (except at breakfast) in our meal arrangements. Your start date determines the price applicable to your holiday, and prices vary according to the day you arrive at the first hotel, as indicated in the price panels. You should arrive back in the UK by the last date shown at the top of the price panel. If you are travelling out a few days before your Inntravel holiday starts, your holiday may fall within a different pricing period and incur additional charges. Please check with us when making your booking. ‘With flights’ holidays include return scheduled flights in economy class from London, plus onward travel (or hire car) We outline the travel arrangements included in each holiday in the price panel, giving the flight route, airline, provisional departure and arrival times of both outward and return flights, and the method and anticipated duration (not including any connection time between airports and railway stations or ports) of the included onward travel, which is by taxi, rail and taxi, ferry and taxi, or even taxi and mule if you are combining our Moroccan walks. Where your onward journey involves a rail or ferry element, we do not include transport between the airport and the station or port. Full journey details are shown on your personalised Itinerary, which we include with your tickets and documentation. It is often possible to fly from a different airport to that included in the standard arrangements; please contact us for details and prices. ‘Own travel’ holidays - if you wish to make all your own travel arrangements (all the way to the first hotel) the ‘Own Travel’ price applies. We are happy to be flexible with your travel arrangements. If you wish to book your own flights, and to arrange onward travel through Inntravel, add the ‘own travel return transfers’ supplement (expressed per person). This includes travel from/to the stated city or airport. The only holidays for which the ‘Own Travel’ prices already include an element of travel are those to the Canary Islands and those which include car hire, and we give details of what is included in the relevant price panel. If making your own travel or flight arrangements, you should do this only after we confirm the holiday arrangements to you. Please also bear in mind the need to have adequate insurance cover in the case of scheduled airline failure or disruption. (When you book all your travel with Inntravel, all aspects of the holiday are covered by our Booking Conditions, including our obligation to get you to and from your holiday in the event of the failure of an airline or other disruption to travel services.) 'No frills' airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet offer an extensive network of services that can be useful for many of our holidays. They are easy to book online direct with the airline. They do not offer special arrangements or pay commission to holiday companies but, if you prefer, we may be able to make the reservation on your behalf subject to a service fee of £25 per person. We can only make these flight bookings once the rest of the holiday arrangements are confirmed to us, and the full cost of the flights must be paid for at the time of booking. Only if we make the reservation for you will you benefit from Inntravel’s complete consumer protection for this aspect of your holiday. We reserve the right to withdraw this service for any particular route or airline at any time. ‘3rd+ person saving’ on the price panel expresses a reduction to be applied to the overall holiday price for any third and subsequent persons travelling in a party. All party members must travel together for the reduction to apply; if the holiday includes a hire car or taxi transfer, the party must travel in one car. Single room prices are shown in holiday price panels and are expressed as the total amount payable per room for the whole holiday. In addition, as all our prices are based on two people travelling together, we may have to make a further supplementary charge if you are travelling on your own. Some hotels offer superior rooms (suites or rooms with a balcony etc). We indicate where these are available in the online brochure holiday descriptions, along with the additional cost per person per night. Making a bookingBooking your holiday To book your holiday, you can complete our online booking form, though if you wish to tailor-make the itinerary in any way, we recommend you call us on 01653 617929 instead so that our expert reservations staff can talk you through the numerous options available to you. However you book, it is assumed you have accepted our Booking Conditions and we require a deposit of £120 per person and insurance premiums (if required), and any additional deposits which may be required to secure particular flights. Once we have made the requested reservations, we will send you a Booking Confirmation and Invoice confirming the principal elements of your holiday. We ask that you pay the balance 8 weeks before departure and will normally send your documentation 2-3 weeks in advance of your holiday. We will consult you if we cannot make any of the arrangements, unless it is a minor detail. If we cannot arrange the holiday requested, nor offer an acceptable alternative, we will refund your deposit in full. How to pay You can pay by bank or building society cheque (made payable to Inntravel Ltd), credit card (MasterCard or Visa), or debit card (Maestro or Visa Debit). We are currently unable to accept American Express cards. Last-minute bookings are often possible, for which we may have to make an extra charge for secure ticket delivery. We recommend you book as early as possible to get the holiday you want. Insurance, health and passportsPassports and visas A full passport is required for all British citizens visiting the countries featured in this programme, but no visas are required. A full British passport presently takes approximately 4 weeks to obtain (see the United Kingdom Passport Service’s website, ukpa.gov.uk). If you or any member of your party is 16 or over and do not yet have a passport, our recommendation is that you should apply for one at least 6 weeks before your holiday. The UK Passport Service has to confirm your identity before issuing your first passport and from October 2006 will ask you to attend an interview in order to do this. If your passport is due to expire, please check the requirements of the country you are visiting - some nations (such as Morocco) will not allow you entry unless your passport is valid for a further six months. Entry requirements may change and you must check the up-to-date position in good time before departure. If you or any member of your party is not a British citizen or holds a non British passport, you must check passport and visa requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the country(ies) to or through which you are intending to travel. It is essential that you give your name as it appears on your passport so that we can issue your tickets in the correct name. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office produces up-to-date travel information to help British travellers make informed decisions about travelling abroad. For further information, please visit fco.gov.uk/knowbeforeyougo or telephone 0870 606 0290. Alternatively, you can contact ABTA’s Travel Information Line on 0901 201 5050 (calls are charged at 50 pence per minute). Information on health is contained in the Department of Health booklet T7 (Health Advice for Travellers) available from your local Department of Health office and most Post Offices. If you are travelling within Europe, you should obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) prior to departure as this may entitle you to free or reduced cost medical treatment while abroad (this card replaced the now defunct E111). Please note that an EHIC should not be relied on as a substitute for comprehensive travel insurance. For holidays to Morocco, a country with which Britain has no reciprocal health agreement, it is essential that you have adequate holiday insurance and it is recommended that you are immunised against hepatitis A, typhoid, polio and tetanus. Personal holiday insurance We offer a specially arranged policy with Voyager Insurance, whose cover is among the most comprehensive available. The policy is specifically tailored to our type of holiday and, in addition to emergency medical assistance, it provides cover for cancellation and travel disruption in many circumstances. As personal holiday insurance is so important, it is part of our Booking Conditions that you take out adequate cover. We will therefore require you to take out our policy and pay the appropriate premium at the time of booking unless you provide us with details of equivalent cover you have already arranged. It is your responsibility to ensure that your policy offers adequate, equivalent cover - we are not in a position to check policies. Other informationOur commitment is to find the best flight arrangements for you, in terms of routes, prices, conditions and times. Capacity on flights is at times limited, and most carriers have several booking prices within economy class, with a variable number of seats available per price band. We have negotiated for our customers the tariff bands offering best value and available space, so the earlier you book, the better your chance of obtaining these seats upon which our inclusive prices are based. If these are not available, our experienced reservations team may be able to offer you economy seats on the same flights at a different price. In order to secure particular flight fares, we may require a higher deposit than normal, which we will advise you of at the time of booking. Airline and reserved seat rail or ferry tickets can only be used on the dates and times specified on the tickets and cannot be changed or refunded. Bedrooms All holidays include accommodation in rooms with private bath and/or shower and WC. Please tell us when booking whether you require a double or twin-bedded room (in many Spanish hotels, the majority of rooms have twin beds). Where your stay at any hotel is for fewer than 3 nights, your bedroom will have either a bath or a shower. For stays of 3 nights or more, if requested, we can specifically ask for, but not guarantee, a bath rather than a shower and vice versa. You can extend any holiday by adding extra nights (or an extra week in the case of self-catering holidays). Please call us to discuss the best places to add extra nights - we will be happy to advise you and to provide you with a quotation. For families with children, we recommend our self-catering holidays (to receive a copy of our Your Place in the Country brochure, please complete the brochure request form). Our walking and cycling holidays are geared to adults and in the main are not suitable for children. We supply full documentation and maps to help you get the most from your holiday. We provide local maps (usually 1:25,000 or 1:50,000, or 1:75,000 for cycling holidays) along with our own, regularly updated route notes for all our activity holidays, except those to Morocco, for which we provide a guide book. Documentation for all holidays includes information on the history, culture and wildlife of the region and recommendations on what to see and where to eat and shop. Continental time is one hour ahead of British time. The exceptions are Portugal, Madeira and the Canary Islands, which are on the same time as Britain. Morocco’s time is the same as GMT all year round, and is therefore one hour behind Britain between late March and late October. Climate The regions featured in this brochure enjoy a Mediterranean climate, with generally mild winters. However, while you can walk in a T-shirt and shorts practically all year in the coastal regions of Cyprus, Madeira and the Canary Islands (where the average temperature in December is about 21°C), you will find higher regions such as the Andalucian and Moroccan mountains comparatively cooler. The weather in all our regions compares very favourably with that of Britain, with plentiful sunshine, and we very much hope that you will be blessed with clement weather. Our descriptions of the views assume that you are exploring in good, clear conditions. For detailed advice about the best time to travel, please speak to our knowledgeable reservations team. Cycling holidays include hire of a high-quality bicycle that is well maintained, regularly serviced and no more than two years old. They have straight handlebars and a minimum of 18 gears and are fitted with a comfy saddle; front and rear lights or reflectors; puncture repair kit and pump; waterproof map case on the handlebars; panniers; and a lock. Car hireWhere we include a hire car in your holiday arrangements, the car will be an Avis economy size, 2-door car with manual transmission (category A in Spain and its islands, category C in Madeira, category E in Portugal and category F in Cyprus), such as an Opel Corsa. We highly recommend upgrading the car if there are more than two persons in your party - please call for prices. Our car hire arrangements are charged per 24-hour period, so if your flight arrangements mean that you have the car for longer than the period included in the normal holiday arrangements, there will be an extra day’s charge to pay. We will state this when we confirm your booking. Our rental arrangements include unlimited mileage, local taxes, airport charges, third party liability, one driver, Vehicle Damage cover (insurance against accidental damage to the vehicle - see below) and Theft Waiver (TW - vehicle theft insurance - see below). Not included are excess charges‡ for Vehicle Damage cover and TW, road fund licence fee (up to £2 per day in those countries where applicable), fuel and refuelling charges, personal insurance, additional driver fees, and charges for special equipment such as child seats. ‡ as insurance excess charges can be very high we recommend that you pay the additional top-up charge on collection of your hire car so that no excesses are payable in the event of an accident or theft. At the time of going to press, the cost of this top-up charge varied from €12 per day in Spain to €9.50 in Portugal, with no charge applicable in Cyprus. Other rental conditions require that drivers should be aged over 25 and have held a full driving licence for at least one year. On collection of the vehicle, you will be asked to provide a major credit card as a means of deposit. Avis staff will take an imprint so that extra payments such as fuel and vehicle registration fees can be billed to you.
