The southern Dalmatian Coast is Croatia at its most beguiling. Dubrovnik is justly famed for its splendid medieval architecture. North-west of the city, we have found two equally captivating islands. The first, Korcula, combines pretty coves, sleepy villages and rolling hills clad with olive groves and vines to wonderful effect. But if Korcula is idyllic, then Mljet, with its forests and glistening lakes, is spellbinding in its beauty. Touring by car, you can take things at your own pace, choosing walking or sightseeing as the mood takes you.

The Karst & Slovenian Riviera

Hidden Italy & Slovenia

Walking into Slovenia from Italy across the panoramic peak of Matajur has a special magic, and is just one of the many highlights of this holiday. You discover two regions that are very much unspoiled yet full of interest: Friuli in Italy, which produces renowned white wines that are among the country's finest, and the Soca Valley in Slovenia's Mediterranean-influenced Primorska region. Here, wonderful footpaths link traditional villages and lead you up into high, vivid green Alpine pastures, all against the backdrop of the mighty Julian Alps.
