Holiday Booking

For advice or further information on any of the holidays in the National Trust Active Holiday Collection, please contact Inntravel’s specialist reservations team in rural North Yorkshire either by telephone on 01653 617730 or by email.

Booking Your Holiday

To book your holiday, you can call Inntravel on 01653 617730, or you can complete our secure internet booking form. In both cases we require a deposit of £120 per person to confirm the reservation along with your travel insurance premiums (if required) and the price of your flights if you ask us to arrange these for you. It helps if you can let us know at the time of booking what flexibility with dates you have. Once we have made the requested reservations, we will send you a Booking Confirmation and Invoice confirming the principal elements of the holiday. Final payment is due 8 weeks before departure and we normally send your tickets, full itinerary, documentation and maps 2-3 weeks before your holiday. If we cannot arrange the holiday requested, nor offer an acceptable alternative, we will refund your deposit. Please ensure that you read our booking conditions before making a reservation.

How to Pay

You can choose to pay by a variety of methods: bank or building society cheque (made payable to Inntravel Ltd), online transfer direct into Inntravel’s bank account (details are available on request), debit card (Visa Debit or Maestro) or credit card (MasterCard or Visa). We are currently unable to accept American Express cards. Because we are charged for credit card payments, we levy a credit card fee of 1.25% of the holiday price if you choose to pay by MasterCard or Visa. We do not levy charges for any other type of payment.

Last-Minute Bookings

Last-minute bookings are often possible, for which we may have to make an extra charge for secure ticket delivery. We recommend you book as early as possible to get the holiday you want.

Passports, Visas and Health Requirements

British citizens must have a full British passport to visit the countries in this programme, but no visas are required. If your passport is due to expire, please check the requirements of the country you are visiting – some nations (such as Morocco) will not allow you entry unless your passport is valid for a further 6 months. Entry requirements may change and you must check the up-to-date position in good time before departure. A British passport presently takes approximately 4 weeks to obtain (see the United Kingdom Passport Service’s website, www.ips.gov.uk). If you or any member of your party is 16 or over and do not yet have a passport, our recommendation is that you should apply for one at least 6 weeks before your holiday. The UK Passport Service has to confirm your identity before issuing your first passport and will ask you to attend an interview in order to do this. If you or any member of your party is not a British citizen or holds a non British passport, you must check passport and visa requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the country(ies) to or through which you are intending to travel.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office produces up-to-date travel information to help British travellers make informed decisions about travelling abroad. For further information, please visit www.fco.gov.uk/knowbeforeyougo or telephone 0870 606 0290. Alternatively, contact ABTA’s Travel Information Line on 0901 201 5050 (calls charged at 50 pence per minute).

Information on health is given on the Department of Health website www.dh.gov.uk and in the booklet T7 (Health Advice for Travellers) available from your local Department of Health office and most Post Offices. You should obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) prior to departure as this may entitle you to free or reduced cost medical treatment while abroad (this card replaced the now defunct E111). You can apply for your EHIC online by visiting dh.gov.uk, by telephone on 0845 606 2030, or by post with a form available from most Post Offices. Telephone and postal applications can take up to 21 days. Please note that an EHIC should not be relied upon as a substitute for comprehensive travel insurance. The EHIC scheme is valid in all countries of the EU, and Norway. Switzerland also operates the same arrangement. For holidays to Croatia, which is not covered by the EHIC scheme, you can obtain emergency treatment on production of a valid British passport, through a reciprocal agreement between Britain and Croatia. No such reciprocal agreement exists with Morocco, making it all the more important that you have comprehensive travel insurance to cover you in the case of illness or an accident. It is recommended that you are immunised against hepatitis A, typhoid, polio and tetanus before you travel to Morocco.

Personal Holiday Insurance

We offer a specially-arranged policy with Voyager Insurance, whose cover is among the most comprehensive available. The policy is specifically tailored to our type of holiday and, in addition to emergency medical assistance, it provides cover for travel disruption in many circumstances. As personal holiday insurance is so important (it is part of our Booking Conditions that you take out adequate cover), we will automatically add our insurance premiums to your booking unless you provide us with details of equivalent cover taken out by you. It is your responsibility to ensure that your policy offers adequate cover which is at least as comprehensive as the cover we offer. We do not check alternative policies.
