  • equally fantastic cross-country and downhill skiing
  • historic hotel in idyllic village
  • fine cuisine, indoor pool and spa
  • excellent range of activities

Close to the Austrian border, the lace-like peaks of the Dolomites – surely the most beautiful range in the Alps – provide a dramatic backdrop to the equally fantastic downhill pistes and cross-country and winter walking trails of the high Seiseralm Plateau.
We first 'discovered' the Seiseralm Plateau on a trip to northern Italy in the summer of 1992. We were struck immediately by this unique landscape in what is perhaps Italy's most surprising region, the German-speaking Südtirol. The walking was excellent, but when we returned in the winter, we realised that the skiing was even better!

Nestling beneath this winter playground is idyllic Kastelruth, a German-speaking village that is steeped in tradition and still observes long-standing customs. With easy access to the Plateau and its wide range of winter activities, Kastelruth makes the perfect base from which to enjoy the enchantment of winter – you can spend your days making the most of the snow, and your evenings enjoying the village’s old-world charms. Located on the main square, the convivial Posthotel Lamm carefully combines all the features you would expect of a modern 4-star hotel (including a spa) with the ambience of a 200-year-old coaching inn.
