Whether you like mountains, lakes, rolling hills or coastal walking, Italy has something for you – its scenery ranges from the lace-like Dolomites in the Alps to the rolling, vineyard-coated hills of Piedmont (Piemonte), and from the glittering waters of the Italian Lakes to the lemon groves of the Amalfi Coast. Just as varied as the landscapes is the cultural heritage, be it the Romanesque churches of Umbria, the Neolithic burial chambers of Sardinia or the Greek ruins and Norman castles of Basilicata in the South.
