Walking holidays in India & Morocco
We also offer walking holidays in India and Morocco on which your party is accompanied by its own local guide. The same grading system is used for these guided holidays as for our self-guided holidays.

We have a self-guided walking holiday for everyone, so broad is our selection, with routes to suit all levels – from gentle coastal strolls to high-mountain hikes – and a wide choice of destinations, from north Norway to Sicily, and from Portugal’s west coast to central Turkey. Part of the joy of an Inntravel self-guided walking holiday is that you explore as individuals, not as part of a group, following our detailed route notes and maps at entirely your own pace.

We use a numeric grading system to help you choose the self-guided walking holiday that is right for you. Grade 1 holidays explore the easiest of paths while, at the other end of the scale, grade 3 holidays promise plenty of ascents and descents each day.

Choose a grade 1 self-guided walking holiday if you’re looking for…
…easy, generally low-level, walking with few ascents and descents, but perhaps the occasional long day.

Choose a grade 1-2 self-guided walking holiday if you’re looking for…
…generally easy walking with some ascents and descents, and occasional longer days up to around 18km.

Choose a grade 2 self-guided walking holiday if you’re looking for…
…moderate walking, on good surfaces, with some long days and ascents/descents generally up to 500m.

Choose a grade 2-3 self-guided walking holiday if you’re looking for…
…mountain walking with plenty of ascents and descents, and days that can often be as long as 20km.

Choose a grade 3 self-guided walking holiday if you’re looking for…
…long days in the high mountains, with ascents and/or descents most days. You will need to be competent with a compass.

Choose a flexible walk if you’re looking for…
…the option of easier or harder routes, so that you can tailor each day to your requirements.
