Extend your stay
If you are flying via Zurich, enjoy attentive service, superb cuisine and fantastic walking with three nights at the 4-star
Hotel Castle
in the Goms Valley.
Why not take the train?
You can leave London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet in the morning and be at your destination by the evening, making it an excellent (not to mention environmentally friendly) way to reach this holiday. You can relax right from the start of your journey as Eurostar services whisk you through the Channel Tunnel to connect with the world-famous French high-speed TGV trains in either Paris or Lille. We reserve seats for you, there is plenty of luggage space, and refreshments are available on board.
You may even break your journey in Paris if you are travelling via the capital. Sit back and enjoy a truly great rail journey! Look for the ‘by rail’ prices in the Prices & Travel section, where you will also find journey details.

secret Alpine valley
three of Switzerland’s most beautiful villages
hotels of great character
walk in the Swiss National Park
Step into another world as you explore the idyllic, Romansch-speaking Engadine Valley and its timeless villages, some of the most beautiful in all of the Alps. This is an area that continues to astonish visitors with the silent splendour of the ancient villages, characterised by sturdy stone-built houses with deeply-recessed windows, arched doorways and intricately painted façades. On this marvellous discovery of the lower and upper Engadine - both very different in character - you stay in the three most picturesque villages and their best hotels.
In theory, the walk from Zuoz to Sils should only take three hours, but we found ourselves taking far longer as we stopped so often to admire the views, which were breathtaking.
Travel diary by Sarah Ridley, Customer Services Manager
This is a region made for walkers, and linking the villages are splendid paths close to the River Inn and across the upper slopes that offer different perspectives of this twisting valley. Choose walks of a grade 2 level (as described) or explore the well-waymarked paths into the high mountains for more demanding walking.
The Chablais Alps
Wonderful walking, wonderful hotels, wonderful food.
The High Dolomites
Walking through the enchanting Dolomites is a real joy.
Lake Geneva to Lake Neuchâtel
A wonderful ridge walk with rewarding views.
Towards the Matterhorn
Aim for the heights and the iconic peak of the Alps.
