Why not take the train?
You can leave London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet in the morning and be at your destination by the evening, making it an excellent (not to mention environmentally friendly) way to reach this holiday. You can relax right from the start of your journey as Eurostar services whisk you through the Channel Tunnel to connect with the world-famous French high-speed TGV trains in either Paris or Lille. We reserve seats for you, there is plenty of luggage space, and refreshments are available on board.
You may even break your journey in Paris if you are travelling via the capital. Sit back and enjoy a truly great rail journey! Look for the ‘by rail’ prices in the Prices & Travel section, where you will also find journey details.

UNESCO World Heritage Site
Some of the Alp’s most magnificent mountains tower above the traditional Swiss valleys of the Bernese Oberland, where awe-inspiring views greet the eye in every direction. Yet even amid such splendour, there are iconic peaks that dominate the skyline, from the impressive Eiger and Mönch to the equally spectacular Jungfrau and Schilthorn. In the green valleys that lie between these mountains, pretty villages of traditional wooden chalets and flower-filled window boxes greet the traveller and invite further exploration.
Nothing can beat the exhilaration of walking through these perfect mountain landscapes, where inviting paths kept drawing us on and on.
This splendid two-week holiday takes you on a classic route through high mountains and over splendid passes, quite deservedly a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. From Grindelwald to Murren and Kandersteg, and then on to Adelboden and Lauenen, this walk is one of our most challenging and, consequently, one of our most rewarding. Well-waymarked paths offer thrilling views at every turn, with vivid green meadows – carpeted in flowers from mid-June to mid-July – giving way to dramatic, snow-capped peaks.
