stay in an authentic Berber house
half-day tour in Marrakesh included
The very name Marrakesh conjurs up images of a frenetic, colourful, noisy and delightfully aromatic city - and you will not be disappointed from the moment you first set foot in the maelstrom that is the truly remarkable Djemaa el Fna. This bustling square epitomises all that is exotic, foreign and exciting about Morocco, with acrobats, snake charmers, story tellers and street vendors all adding their individual and unique contribution to the overall experience. You will find the people friendly and respectful, busy and noisy, leaving you spellbound by the hectic whirl around you in one of the world's great cities.
The foothills and valleys of the High Atlas Mountains are surprisingly lush and green, and provide endless opportunities for walking beneath the shadow of mighty peaks. After the hustle and bustle of the city, walking along wide open ridges with gentle breezes blowing up from the valleys below comes as a refreshing change. With three days to explore the lower valleys and three days on the dramatic higher slopes, this holiday offers a real insight into North Africa's most iconic mountain range.
Extend your stay
For a complete contrast and some fresh sea air,
add three nights
in Essaouira on the Atlantic Coast. With its ancient walls and archways, sheltered bay and bustling harbour, it’s a delightful place to relax, to explore the winding cobbled streets of the medina, or to stroll along the seafront and sample delicious fresh fish dishes at open air restaurants after watching the fishermen bring in their catch. Stay at one of our carefully selected riads, stylish hotels reflecting both the atmosphere and charm of this lovely city and offering first-class hospitality.
