self-guided hotel-to-hotel walking, luggage transported
inspirational views to the famous jagged Dolomite peaks
wonderful paths through meadows, forests and tranquil hamlets
idyllic hotels serving fine regional cuisine
In the mountains of the southern, German-speaking Dolomites you find not only wonderful, very varied paths that reward the walker with views in clear weather to the famous jagged Dolomite peaks, but also delightful hotels offering a blend of authenticity, comfort and character enhanced by attentive service and delicious cooking. Week one combines four such idyllic places so that after a great day's walking you can relax in peaceful, panoramic surroundings and savour outstanding regional cuisine that blends Italian and Austrian influences.
After a day enjoying 360-degree views over the mountains we returned to our balcony at the hotel and watched the sun set over the horizon.
Inntravel Travel diary
Week two begins by walking through the most westerly, German-speaking region of the Dolomites and combines the finest features of this mountain area - an exceptional standard of hotels, excellent Tyrolean and Italian cuisine, and splendid walking. Each day you have a choice of walks, from magnificent trails into the high mountains to gentler walks through the meadows and forests of the Seiseralm Plateau, home to a unique range of Alpine plants as well as chamois and eagles.
