Travelling to India
Please read the important information about passport, visa and health requirements for travel to India.
  • stay at the historic Khali Estate, a former colonial residence
  • privately guided walks in the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary and the mountainous Saryu Valley
  • friendly hospitality in authentic, welcoming guesthouses
  • optional night in a ridge-top tented camp
  • game drives in Corbett National Park
  • luggage transported throughout your stay
  • opportunity to explore fascinating Delhi

From the kaleidoscopic chaos of Delhi, this unique 15-night holiday takes you to the heart of both of Village Ways’ projects in northern India, allowing you to explore the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary in the remote Kumaon Hills, as well as the higher and more Tibetan-influenced Saryu Valley, which is located a five-hour drive to the north. Walking from village to village, you become immersed in the lives, traditions and culture of your hosts as you admire the backdrop of forests, waterfalls and snow-covered peaks which define your routes.
We had a wonderful time, full of great memories - the people, food and scenery were all awesome, but what I will remember for the rest of my life was our night under canvas, and waking up beneath the snow-capped mountains - truly breathtaking!

For added adventure, you can even add an overnight stay in a tented camp at an altitude of 3,000 metres (this is optional, but highly recommended) before being transferred to the Corbett National Park for a memorable two-night stay. Corbett is the oldest of India’s national parks, having been founded in 1936, and you have the opportunity to spot an impressive array of wildlife, including – if you are very lucky – that most elusive of all big cats, the tiger.
