Why not take the train?
You can leave London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet in the morning and be at your destination by the evening, making it an excellent (not to mention environmentally friendly) way to reach this holiday. You can relax right from the start of your journey as Eurostar services whisk you through the Channel Tunnel to connect with the world-famous French high-speed TGV trains in either Paris or Lille. We reserve seats for you, there is plenty of luggage space, and refreshments are available on board.
You may even break your journey in Paris if you are travelling via the capital. Sit back and enjoy a truly great rail journey! Look for the ‘by rail’ prices in the Prices & Travel section, where you will also find journey details.

walk into Switzerland
majestic scenery
rewarding walking
South of Evian on the shores of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva), the landscape begins a rapid and relentless rise through the quiet Pré-alpes of the Chablais region on their way towards the majestic massif of the Mont Blanc range. From the wooded hills and vineyards of the Bas-Chablais on the shores of the lake to the forests and high summits of the Haut Chablais, this is remarkable walking country.
This highly accessible region of high mountains, deep forests and flower-filled meadows, with its bustling alpine towns and enticing restaurants, makes the perfect walking destination.
Our route begins in the heart of the Haut Chablais at the pretty alpine town of Les Gets, from where you will enjoy the splendid scenery of the Northern Alps, stay in welcoming traditional hotels and sample the best in local cuisine.
