Cypresses, olive groves, honey-coloured stone houses and fields of sunflowers – the rolling landscapes south of the city of Siena hold a special allure. This is the Crete Senesi, the quiet side of Tuscany, a timeless region of great natural beauty.
Of course, this being Tuscany, the romantic scenery is one of biggest draws, but the friendliness of Andrea and his family is a big attraction too – they are always on hand to offer suggestions as to what to see and do.
Kay D’Souza, Regional Manager for Italy
There are many cultural gems to discover in this region, all within easy driving distance, making the
Tuscan Mill
a great base from which to explore. Highlights include Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino and the abbey at Monte Oliveto Maggiore. However, this is also a place for taking things slowly, for leisurely walks, gentle cycle rides and lazy picnics.
