In northernmost Italy, towering peaks over 3,000 metres high stand sentinel along the border with Austria while icy glaciers spill down into the valleys below. The Schnalstal is one such idyllic, German-speaking valley in which lush meadows and dense pine woods surround picturesque villages with their pretty wooden churches.

Karthaus is a really idyllic village, full of history, and the setting is gorgeous. Customers are always very impressed by the hospitality here – Paul and Steffi are extremely friendly, and happy to offer advice and help so that you get the most out of your holiday.

The area contains much of cultural and historical interest, not least the museums devoted to the Copper Age man found preserved in the ice nearby. However, this is a place for enjoying the outdoor life – walking, mountain biking and even year-round skiing on the Schnalstaler Glacier – and you can do just that from the comfortable Rose Apartments.
