This incredible rail journey links two of Norway’s most exciting cities. Travelling over the spectacular Hardangervidda Plateau, you follow in the footsteps of Shackleton and Nansen – all from the comfort of your train seat.It is well worth making the excursion to Flåm while you’re in Geilo. It’s several years since I made the journey, yet I can still clearly remember the drama of the scenery as the train descends some 850 metres over the course of just 20 kilometres.
