Trails with a Donkey through Castile's Foothills

Castles, caves & canyons

Your base for most of the week is pretty Navafría, a typical mountain village in the foothills of the Guadarrama Sierra, which has been designated a natural park. Surrounded by mature pine forests on the mountain tops and green pastures and oak forest on the lower slopes, it is a relaxed village where the local people work the woodland and tend their cattle. There is a natural swimming pool here (open in July and August) where the River Cega flows gently through the village.
