Theodorides Estate, near Agios Ioannis, Pelion
SPECIAL OFFER - Save £90 per party on a 7-night stay in the 1-bedroom apartment in May, June and September.
• high-quality apartments in peaceful setting close to the sea • charming hideaway perfect for couples • sleep 2, or 4 to 5 (1 or 2 bedrooms)
It’s hard to say whether you will be most impressed by the high quality of these modern apartments or by their peaceful location overlooking the Aegean. This idyllic spot is an undeniably romantic retreat, with its delightful grounds and inspirational views. What’s more, the beach, tavernas and bars in the picturesque village of Agios Ioannis can be reached on foot in around 20 minutes. So exquisite is the location that Patrick Leigh Fermour made reference to it in his book, ‘Romantic Travels in Northern Greece’, and it is easy to see why it was chosen as the summer resort of the Olympian Gods!
The beach of Agios Ioannis is ideal for swimming, having been awarded a Blue Flag for its exceptional cleanliness. Here you can rent boats, canoes or sea-bicycles, or you can take a longer trip out into the bay. Whether watching the silver moon rise out of the sea, listening to the lively birdsong, or idly letting the sound of the waves lull you to sleep, you will find this the perfect place to unwind and find a sense of true relaxation.
Built in the traditional style of the Pelion, the six apartments we offer consist of one or two bedrooms, a shower room, a balcony commanding views towards the islands of Skiathos and Skopelos, and a living room with a fireplace, sofa bed, television and a kitchenette equipped with a fridge, small oven, two-ring hob, grill and coffeemaker.
The whitewashed walls and white fabrics create a light and airy feel, and complement the handsome dark-wood furniture perfectly, giving an overall rustic effect, homely yet stylish. The charismatic owners are the perfect hosts and their hospitality is so great that many feel as though they are staying with good friends, and then return year after year.
Surrounding the villas and their shared pool is a wood of cherry, chestnut, fig and palm trees as well as an abundance of citrus trees which delicately scent the air. There are also several streams and small waterfalls close by that can be heard gurgling in the background, along with the sound of birdsong, or cicadas at the height of summer.
(Please note that young children are not permitted.)
