Volissos may be peaceful, but offers excellent facilities that include shops and a good selection of restaurants, tavernas and cafés by the sea. If you would like a large apartment with a balcony that commands spectacular views, opt for one of the two Kamara Apartments. Lefteris, meanwhile, is a first-floor apartment with a double bedroom, a bathroom, and an open-plan living room with sea views, a compact kitchen and two single beds. For such a small island, there are many historic sites to visit, many walks to take and many glorious views to enjoy. Chios, the ‘fragrant flower’ of the Aegean is noted for its jasmine, tulips, and other wild flowers that give it an almost intoxicating fragrance. Scattered throughout this hilly island are relics of past times: at the foot of Mount Epos you can sit on the stone where Homer taught; visit the kastro, a Byzantine fortress used by Genoan and Turk, or enter the Cave of Olympi, to see wondrous natural rock formations. 
We offer you the choice of the village’s best apartments which, though they have different layouts, all easily sleep up to a family of four. Only creature comforts such as air-conditioning and modern kitchens and bathrooms betray these otherwise very authentic - and utterly charming - cottages. Some have been divided into open-plan, one-storey studios, while others have been split the other way so as to create two-storey cottages, which have a separate bedroom upstairs. 
Finally, Moneos and the Gallery are on two levels and consist of a bath or shower room, a living room with two sofa beds, a kitchen area, and a double bedroom. Choose Moneos for the bonus of a veranda, or the Gallery if you prefer a garden, both of which boast sea views. All are comfortably and traditionally furnished, incorporating wrought iron bedsteads, local textiles and unusual original features.
