This renovated detached stone house sits on the edge of the pretty hillside village of Doli, with views across the Messinian Bay towards Kalamata and the rugged Taïyetos Mountains. A delightful hideaway for couples and ideal for exploring the Mani, Baba Spiros is tucked away down a winding street, and has been stylishly converted while retaining its traditional appeal. The property is just a scenic 15-minute drive from the beach at Kitries, with its two lovely tavernas and peaceful atmosphere. There are more beaches, shops and tavernas at Kardamili, as well as a choice of secluded, sandy coves nearby. 
From the parking area, you have a two-minute stroll to the house down a quiet lane, only wide enough for people, donkeys, and the occasional flock of sheep! The traditional whitewashed hallway leads to the bathroom and two bedrooms - a single and an air-conditioned double - the latter with French windows opening onto the terrace with inland views. The upstairs living room - simple, stylish and comfortable - takes advantage of the sweeping views from the large veranda. Facilities include a CD player, a small selection of books, and various games for quiet evenings in. The open-plan kitchen at the far end of the living room is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, traditional marble sink and full cooker. 
Outside you have a large wooden veranda and two marble tables for alfresco dining. Wonderfully preserving the natural surroundings of the house, the veranda has been constructed around the trunk of a huge olive tree, which seems to grow through the wooden floorboards and provides cool shade. The terraced garden boasts olive, mulberry and almond trees, as well as a wisteria-clad pavilion for peaceful relaxation. Subtle lighting and an outdoor kitchen with a marble sink and worktop, ideal for preparing meals in the garden, lend themselves to a romantic evening under the stars.
