The Amalfi Coast & Sorrento Peninsula (Campania)

South of Naples, the rugged promontory of the Amalfi Coast fuses a dramatic, mountainous landscape with picturesque villages whose construction appears to defy logic. The sparkling waters below are ever-present, and the air is filled with the heady scent of lemons.

Rugged, wild, incredibly varied and beautiful, Umbria is known as Italy's 'green heart', famed for its Romanesque churches and abbeys. The wildest corner is in the Sibillini Mountains, a sierra that straddles the border with neighbouring Le Marche.

Valle d'Aosta

The Valle d'Aosta, home of Italy's first national park, is tucked away in the north-west corner of Italy bordering France and Switzerland. This is Italy's smallest region - surrounded by Europe's highest peaks. Forest of larch and fir, wide alpine meadows, cliffs and ridges, and creaking blue glaciers all combine to crate a stunningly beautiful landscape of rich and varied flora and fauna.

The Veneto

The great arc of the Veneto Plain holds many contrasts, and beyond the magnificence of Palladian Vicenza and dazzling Venice is a landscape which is infinitely rewarding to discover. You are never far from beautiful countryside, including the green Euganean Hills, calm lagoons and the undulating foothills of the Dolomites, which provide a splendid backdrop.
