As you might expect, Gothenburg – as West Sweden’s main port and Sweden’s second-largest city – has a terrific food culture and a superb (and fast-growing) restaurant scene. Eating out here is a way of life for many, and there are no fewer than five Michelin-starred restaurants – not bad for a place with just 500,000 inhabitants.

If you go on our walking holiday that explores northern Tenerife you simply must climb to the top of El Teide. I say 'climb' but you can actually take the cable car most of the way up. When you get out there are a couple of paths that have been created through the lava that are smooth, paved and easy to follow...
