Yorkshire is great place to live and work, and I don’t just say that because I was brought up here and now live just south of York. As the largest county in England it contains unrivalled and very distinct landscapes of unequalled beauty; it has a proud history, placing it firmly at the centre of English political and cultural life; and today it boasts a rich tradition of sporting prowess which last year saw Yorkshire win more medals at the Olympic Games than most countries.

I was lucky enough to be sent to ‘road test’ one of our new cycling holidays last week –
Wine Trails of South Moravia. This involved cycling all the routes, putting the finishing touches to our detailed customer notes, and – perhaps most enjoyably – tasting a few wines along the way…

If you enjoy a glass or two of wine, especially on holiday, then you will be delighted to know that there are very few Inntravel holidays that don’t afford you this opportunity. Ordering a locally-produced variety with your evening meal after an enjoyable day’s exercise, or stopping off en route for a sip of rosé at a wayside café, can be simple, but pleasurable, experiences in their own right.
