Wine Trails of South Moravia. This involved cycling all the routes, putting the finishing touches to our detailed customer notes, and – perhaps most enjoyably – tasting a few wines along the way…

If you enjoy a glass or two of wine, especially on holiday, then you will be delighted to know that there are very few Inntravel holidays that don’t afford you this opportunity. Ordering a locally-produced variety with your evening meal after an enjoyable day’s exercise, or stopping off en route for a sip of rosé at a wayside café, can be simple, but pleasurable, experiences in their own right.

Wine tastings are meant to be pleasurable experiences, wherever you are in the world; but in the Czech region of South Moravia, close to the Austrian border, the emphasis is firmly on enjoyment. There are no airs and graces here, and no haughtiness or one-upmanship to be found in the tasting room.

Amsterdam’s world-famous Rijksmuseum re-opens on Saturday 13 April after a multi-million pound, ten-year makeover. Queen Beatrix will perform the opening ceremony in the morning after which it will be open to members of the public, who will be able to access the museum free of charge until midnight. A long orange carpet will stretch from Museumplein, the musuem gardens, to the Rijksmuseum’s spectacular new atrium entrance.

It’s claimed to be the most bike-friendly city in the world and, with cycle lanes on virtually every street, hundreds of bike hire companies, respectful car drivers and trains that are geared up to take you and your bike, it’s a hard claim to refute.
