Perfect at any time of year

I've just come back from a long weekend walking in Shropshire and it's been wonderful - perfect walking weather, magnificent landscapes, great history to uncover, spectacular wildlife and excellent hotels. Ok, there are few leaves on the trees, but there are daffodils and snowdrops bursting forth, lambs in all the fields and blue, blue skies. Which begs the question - why wait 'til summer? 

Why wait for queues, insects and crowds? Take my advice and go now. Here are just a few of the photos I took over the weekend as my wife and I walked from quirky Bishop’s Castle to historic Clun and on to Bromfield via Stokesay Castle before spending a day exploring the beautiful town of Ludlow:
