She's back in Bavaria...

BavariaAfter a well-received outing on BBC4 in December, Julia Bradbury’s back with her latest series, "German Wanderlust" - and it's now on BBC2, having started last week. Of particular interest is the journey she undertook through the Bavarian Alps to visit the fairy-tale castles of King Ludwig II - and you can see this episode on Friday.

Sit back and enjoy the scenery as Julia embarks upon a wonderful walk that explores the amazing story of King Ludwig’s life, his obsession with landscape, Romantic art and literature - and culminates in a visit to his greatest legacy, the incredible castle of Neuschwanstein.

Bavaria is one of our new destinations for this year - wander Beneath the Zugspitze on a hotel-to-hotel walk that passes beneath Germany’s highest peak, taking you to delightful frescoed villages where you can sample hearty local cuisine and tasty beers and immerse yourself in wonderful traditions of Bavaria; or take to two wheels and discover Bavarian Castles and Villages on a delightful route that follows part of the Romantic Strasse to visit several of the fairytale castles of King Ludwig II.

So, don’t forget:

Watch Julia Bradbury "Walking in the Bavarian Alps" at 7.00pm on Friday on BBC2 - to get a flavour of this fascinating region.
