Your holiday price explained

walking holidays with inntravel

General

All prices on our website are expressed in £ per person (unless otherwise stated at the top of the price panel*) based on 2 people travelling together and sharing a double or twin room.

*The main exception is prices for the majority of self-catering accommodation, which tend to be expressed in £ per property based on a party of 2 (at some properties there is an additional charge payable if there are more than 2 people travelling in your party; this charge usually applies to each extra adult or child, although sometimes a single charge is made irrespective of the number of additional people in your party).

Your date of arrival at the (first) hotel or property determines the price of the holiday, and prices vary according to season as indicated in the holiday price panels. A date range is given at the top of most price panels indicating when the holiday operates. In the case of snow and self-catering holidays, the last date in this range is the last date you can start the holiday; in the case of all other holidays, the last date is the day by which your holiday should finish. If international rail travel, flights or a Channel crossing are included in the basic holiday price and you travel out a few days before you are due to arrive at your Inntravel accommodation, your holiday may fall within a different pricing period and incur additional charges. Please check with us when making your booking.

What the holiday price includes

All prices include the following:

• accommodation with a private bath and/or shower and WC (unless otherwise stated) for the number of nights stated in the information panel. In the case of self-catering accommodation, bed linen, bathroom towels, heating, electricity and final cleaning are all included unless otherwise stated.

• meal arrangements as outlined in the holiday information panel. Where dinner is included, you usually dine from a half-board menu comprising 2 to 4 courses, often with regional specialities. Drinks are not included (except at breakfast).

• services integral to the holiday, such as luggage transfers on holidays on which you walk or cycle between hotels; cycle hire on cycling holidays; the services of a guide or instructor (plus equipment, where appropriate) on guided holidays; and car hire or travel that is specifically described in the holiday itinerary.

• full documentation, including route notes and maps for all holidays specifically involving an element of walking or cycling, a cross-country or downhill plan for skiing holidays, and a road map if you are driving at your destination. As your documentation pack is necessarily quite large to incorporate this wealth of information, we charge customers living outside the UK (including those in the Republic of Ireland) £20 per pack to cover the additional postage costs of sending the documentation to you prior to your holiday. We normally send your maps and route notes to your home (or other specified) address 2-3 weeks in advance of your holiday, so please let us know if you are travelling earlier than your Inntravel holiday is due to start so that we can send your documentation pack to you in good time.

What travel elements, if any, are included in your holiday price varies and are outlined in the table below:

Price Included travel element
By air price return flights (usually scheduled services, but sometimes charters) from London in economy class, and
connecting travel by rail/bus and/or taxi, or hire of an economy or compact-size car, as outlined in the relevant price panel. (Unless specified, connecting travel by rail or bus is from the city-centre station, rather than the airport, and connections between the two should be paid for locally.)

By rail price standard-class travel by Eurostar from London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet International to Lille or Paris, with onward travel (again in standard class) by TGV or other rail services, and transfer where necessary to your hotel (we do not include transfers to city hotels).

Self-drive price a return Channel crossing from Dover to Calais with P&O Ferries for your party (minimum 2 adults) and one car*. On hotel-to-hotel walking and cycling holidays, a transfer back to the first hotel to pick up your car is included where necessary.
(*NB: A supplement of £27 per car per single journey applies for outbound travel on 17, 18 & 19 April and for inbound travel on 21, 26 & 27 April 2014. A supplement of up to £35 per car per single journey applies for weekend travel from 23 May to 1 June and from 18 July to 30 August 2014 inclusive, depending on time and direction of travel. ‘Weekend’ is defined as Friday and Saturday for outward travel, and Saturday and Sunday for the return crossing.)

Other prices

Price Definition
Single room supplement supplement payable if only one person is occupying a room. This is usually expressed as the total additional amount payable per single room for the whole holiday, except where we specifically state in the price panel that the supplement payable is per night (eg on many holidays in the snow and at our city hotels and on special getaway breaks).

Single traveller charge supplement payable if you are travelling alone – see explanation below.

Room upgrade supplement supplement payable to upgrade to a superior room (eg room with sea view etc, where available). Usually expressed per person per night (except for holidays in the snow, where the price is expressed per room per night).

3rd+ person saving reduction to be applied to the overall holiday price for any third and subsequent persons travelling in a party. All party members must travel together for the reduction to apply; if the holiday includes a hire car, Channel crossing or taxi transfer, the party must travel in one vehicle.

Additional person price (self-catering properties only) price payable by each extra adult or child where there are more than 2 people in your party. Unless otherwise stated, this price assumes that the additional person(s) is/are travelling together with the rest of the party in the same car. It does not include a larger or additional hire car, nor a ferry crossing for another car in the case of self-drive holidays.

Connecting travel price price payable per person if, on holidays which include no travel, you are flying via our recommended airport(s) and wish us to book the onward travel arrangements stated in the price panel. Connecting travel is usually by rail, bus and/or taxi; unless otherwise stated, connecting travel by rail or bus tends to be from the city centre station, rather than from its airport, and connections between the two should be paid for locally.

Extend your stay and Add-on price price payable if you have purchased connecting travel for your main holiday through Inntravel and you opt for our suggested extension to your main holiday. The price includes accommodation and meals as described for the stated duration, and car hire or transfers to the hotel (or central railway station for city hotels; no transfer to the airport for your homeward journey is included if you are staying in that city). Prices may be different if you are not arranging your transfers for your main holiday through Inntravel, or have your own car; please contact us for a quotation if this is the case.

Extra night price price payable if you wish to add an extra night at a hotel which features in your chosen holiday, expressed per person per night based on two people sharing a double room (different prices apply if you require a single room) and the standard meal arrangements for that hotel, unless otherwise stated. Please contact us if no price is given for the hotel at which you wish to add an extra night. Unless stated otherwise, extra night prices for holidays with a hire car include an additional day’s car hire, and extra night prices for cycling holidays include an extra day’s cycle hire (except when you are staying in a large town or city at the start or end of your holiday).

Single travellers

Most of our holidays are self-guided, and we strongly advise anyone who plans to travel alone – particularly on a walking holiday – to call us to discuss arrangements.

All of our published ‘per person’ prices (including connecting travel) are calculated on the assumption that at least two people will be travelling together with both paying the per person price; costs for all shared services such as car hire, taxi journeys and luggage transfers are apportioned accordingly. In addition to the single room price shown in our panels, we may also need to charge a further supplement if you are travelling alone to cover the full cost of any shared services normally apportioned between two people. You will be advised of the amount that applies to your chosen holiday at the time of booking.

Child & infant prices

We publish child prices for our holidays in the snow and our selection of walking, cycling, self-catering and hotel-based holidays designed specially with families in mind. In the main, the majority of our walking and cycling holidays are geared towards adults and are usually not suitable for children or infants.

Many of the properties featured in our Rural Hideaways programme are suitable for children, and in many cases children stay free if accompanied by two adults – see the ‘additional person’ price at each property.

Child prices on winter snow breaks

Child prices are given for those hotels particularly well suited for families (although we are happy to provide a quotation for other hotels) and apply to children sharing a room with two adults. Because the hotels offer several types of room, and the room you choose will depend largely on the age and number of children in your family, we base the prices on our normal included room type. It will often be necessary, however, to upgrade to a larger room and pay the stated supplement. Children occupying their own room pay the full adult price.

Infants under two years pay just £70 at these hotels, though no meals are included and they must share their parents’ seats on the plane or train.

Please see the example below for the Hotel Wiesenhof, Pertisau as a guide to working out your holiday price:
