Flight booking service for European holidays (excluding snow holidays)
For the majority of our holidays, we prefer not to show holiday prices with an included flight from London. Instead, our price panels show a ‘walk price’, ‘cycle price’, ‘journey price’ or ‘property and hire car’ price for the accommodation and associated services, such as luggage transfers, picnics and hire car, but no included travel elements. We provide information to enable you to book your own travel arrangements, but our expert reservations staff will nevertheless be happy to find the most suitable flights and book them for you. We can offer various kinds of flights:
• Inntravel special fares We will offer these wherever they are available. We have access to special fares to many of our destinations from leading airlines such as British Airways, Icelandair, Swiss, Turkish Airlines and SAS among others, and also with some charter airlines. The price of these special fares varies according to availability on specific flights, but we will quote the best available special fare for your choice of dates and times.
• Published fares If a special fare is no longer available on your choice of flight, or you prefer to fly on a route or with an airline for which we do not hold special fares, we may be able to make reservations on your behalf using ‘published’ fares that have been made available without commission or special concessions to holiday companies and travel agents in general, or directly to the general public. Such reservations will be subject to a service fee of £30 per person.
• ‘No frills’ airlines We are able to make reservations for you at the prices and conditions shown on the websites of such airlines as easyJet and Jet2, subject also to a service fee of £30 per person.
Why book your flights with Inntravel?
By booking all your travel arrangements including your flights through Inntravel, you enjoy the convenience of booking all elements of your holiday with one company. You can also rest assured that Inntravel will accept liability for your travel arrangements as set out in our Booking Conditions (for example we will offer you a range of options in the event of a significant pre-departure change to your travel arrangements). The monies you have paid (including for your flights) will also be protected by the financial security arrangements we have in place (subject to only a few limited exceptions). Please see our Booking Conditions for further details.
Booking and paying for your flights
We will book your accommodation before booking your flights. We can usually provide rapid confirmation, but because we handle each booking individually and many of our holidays involve contacting multiple accommodation providers, we might have to book your holiday in two stages, contacting you once the accommodation is confirmed to find the best flights to get you to your destination.
As most airlines require us to issue tickets and pay for the flights at the time of, or very shortly after, making the reservation, we will ask you to pay the full cost of your flights at the time of making your flight bookings (this is in addition to the general holiday deposit).
The tickets we provide can only be used on the dates and times specified on the tickets and cannot be changed or refunded.
Making your own flight arrangements
So that you can make your own flight arrangements independently if you prefer, we state our recommended destination airport(s) for each holiday and offer guidance on either the latest flight arrival and earliest flight departure times, or on the driving time from the airport to your accommodation.
If you do make your own arrangements, you should not book your flights until we have confirmed your accommodation arrangements to you, and you should also heed the latest flight arrival and earliest flight departure times indicated in the price panel, as you may find arranging connecting travel impossible outside these times. If your holiday includes a hire car, you should check the opening times of the car hire desk with us to ensure you can collect your hire car on arrival.
You should bear in mind that we will not be able to assist or cover additional costs if, for example, your travel arrangements are disrupted or if, for any reason, you are unable to meet your pre-booked car hire pick up time, or if we are forced for reasons beyond our control to make a significant change or cancel your confirmed holiday.
You should ensure that you have adequate insurance cover in the event of scheduled airline failure or travel disruption. Our financial security arrangements will not protect monies you have paid for any flights or other travel arrangements not booked through us.
Snow holidays
Our prices for these holidays include return flights from London in economy class, plus connecting travel. Sometimes we use scheduled services with such airlines as British Airways, Swiss and SAS (Scandinavian Airlines); at other times we use charter flights in conjunction with our partner tour operator, Inghams, who operate efficient and convenient flights from many UK regional airports to many of our destinations. With the restrictions on baggage and lack of amenities offered by ‘no frills’ airlines, most charter flights nowadays offer the comparative luxury of an on-board snack, hold luggage included and an allocated seat (you can even pre-book seats on selected airlines), plus more possibilities to fly from your local airport.
Most scheduled airlines have several booking prices with a variable number of seats available per price band. Our prices include the tariff bands offering best value and available space, so the earlier you book, the better your chance of obtaining these seats. If these are not available, our experienced reservations team may be able to offer you seats on the same flights at a different price. In order to secure particular flight fares, we may require a higher deposit than normal, which we will advise you of at the time of booking.
While our included flights depart from London airports, we pride ourselves on tailor-making arrangements to suit each individual customer, and can therefore also book a wide range of other flights from airports across the UK, as indicated below the price panel.
Alternatively, ‘no frills’ airlines such as EasyJet and Jet2 offer an extensive network of services that can be useful for many of our holidays in the snow. They are easy to book online direct with the airline, but we may be able to make reservations on your behalf subject to a service fee of £30 per person. We can only make these flight bookings once the rest of the holiday arrangements are confirmed to us, and the full cost of the flights must be paid at the time of booking in addition to the general holiday deposit. Only if we make the reservations for you will you benefit from Inntravel’s complete consumer protection for this aspect of your holiday. We reserve the right to withdraw this service for any particular route or airline at any time.
Pre-bookable seating arrangements and carriage of skis on charters
For £9 per person per return journey, we can offer customers the opportunity to pre-book seats with selected charter airlines. This guarantees a couple, family or group can sit together (although you might be separated by an aisle) with exact seat numbers given at check-in. This service must be requested at the time of booking. Ski carriage must be pre-booked (at the time of booking) on charter flights, for which there is a charge of £35 per set of skis for return carriage. Please indicate at the time of booking the number of skis to be carried.
Holidays to the United States and Canada
Our ‘by air’ prices for holidays starting in New England include return scheduled flights in the World Traveller cabin from London Heathrow to Boston with British Airways.
Our ‘by air’ prices for holidays starting in Canada include return scheduled flights in economy class with Air Canada from London Heathrow.
You can connect with the Heathrow flight from Manchester, Leeds-Bradford, Teesside, Belfast City, Edinburgh and other selected Scottish airports – please contact us for details and prices.
You can also choose to fly with Icelandair via Reykjavik (where you can break your journey for up to 7 nights) from Heathrow to Boston or Halifax, with substantial savings on our ‘by air’ prices, depending on dates and availability. Please contact us for details of flight schedules, prices and accommodation.

Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) for holidays to the United States
Most British citizens are able to enter the US without a visa under the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP). However, all travellers to the US must obtain Electronic Travel Authorisation. This is done by completing a simple online form on the website of the US Department of Homeland Security at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov. Travel Authorisation must be obtained at least 72 hours before your departure to the US, and is valid for two years (or for the validity of the traveller’s passport, whichever is the shorter). However, we strongly recommend that you seek authorisation before arranging your holiday to the US. A fee applies to all applicants (currently $14 for a successful application).
Holidays to India
Our ‘by air’ prices for holidays to southern India include return scheduled flights from London Heathrow to Mumbai with Jet Airways in economy class, while those to northern India include return scheduled flights from London Heathrow to Delhi with British Airways in World Traveller, or with Jet Airways in economy. We can also arrange flights to Delhi with Virgin Atlantic if you prefer. You can connect with the British Airways Heathrow flights from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle, and we are able to book seats in higher class cabins if you wish. Please contact us for details and prices.

Advance Passenger Information
The UK government continues to implement its requirement for everyone travelling internationally into and out of the UK to submit Advance Passenger Information (API) to their travel provider (including airlines and rail and ferry operators). This information includes full given names as shown on the passport, date of birth, nationality, passport number, plus issue and expiry dates. Where we have made travel arrangements on your behalf, we will request the required information from you and submit it to your travel provider.
Partner airlines

We are pleased to be an Appointed Operator for British Airways, the UK’s largest international scheduled airline. British Airways offer the highest standards of service on the ground and in the air, flying to centrally located airports at convenient times.
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is the largest airline in Scandinavia, offering daily departures to Scandinavia and Finland from London, plus other regional airports including Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. SAS, Europe’s most punctual airline in 2009, has northern Europe’s most comprehensive route network, and offers more weekly frequencies than any other airline between the UK and Scandinavia.
Swiss International Air Lines combines the best qualities associated with Switzerland, including commitment to customer care, superior quality, warm hospitality, efficiency and reliability.
Turkish Airlines, the fourth biggest airline in Europe, boasts flights to 166 worldwide destinations and has recently won the Skytrax award for the best economy-class catering in the world.
Air Canada is Canada’s largest full-service airline and the largest provider of scheduled passenger services in the international market to and from Canada.
Convenient flight times and easy transfers through Reykjavik, with the option of breaking the journey in Iceland’s capital, make Icelandair an attractive choice for North Atlantic travel, as well as for travel to Iceland itself.
Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, has had the distinction of being repeatedly adjudged India's 'Best Domestic Airline' and has won several national and international awards.
Offset your carbon emissions
You may like to consider reducing your environmental footprint by offsetting your air carbon emissions. We offset all our business air travel emissions with a financial contribution to Climate Care, whose aim is to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by funding projects based around renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation. If you are flying to your holiday, go to climatecare.org/inntravel to see how you can help – a donation of just £6 per person is enough to offset your emissions to most western European destinations.
