Amsterdam’s world-famous Rijksmuseum re-opens on Saturday 13 April after a multi-million pound, ten-year makeover. Queen Beatrix will perform the opening ceremony in the morning after which it will be open to members of the public, who will be able to access the museum free of charge until midnight. A long orange carpet will stretch from Museumplein, the musuem gardens, to the Rijksmuseum’s spectacular new atrium entrance. Read the full post
