January is traditionally a very busy time for us - people calling the office to book their holidays for the coming year, while our dedicated show team are attending a number of travel fairs around the country. After a well-received outing on BBC4 in December, Julia Bradbury’s back with her latest series, "German Wanderlust" - and it's now on BBC2, having started last week. Of particular interest is the journey she undertook through the Bavarian Alps to visit the fairy-tale castles of King Ludwig II - and you can see this episode on Friday.

From the charismatic city of Dublin, south through the Wicklow Mountains and on to Cork and Kerry, Sir Terry Wogan began a two-part exploration of the Ireland of his youth on the BBC last night. He met up with old friends in the city, discussed the importance of the pub, drink, the Gaelic language and religion to Irish culture and reminisced about his homeland.

It is something that our customers understand and appreciate but is something that is hard for us to communicate to people who are not yet familiar with Inntravel. That is why we were particularly intrigued when we were introduced to Douglas Gayeton’s beautiful book ‘Slow: Life in a Tuscan Town’.
In his book, Gayeton not only perfectly captures the life of ordinary people but also the essence of the Slow Food movement in Italy – a movement which grew up in response to the opening of the first McDonald’s fast-food outlet in Rome, near the iconic Spanish Steps.

I simply love the snow but I’ve never been skiing before, so it was with great excitement - and a little trepidation, I must admit - that I set off recently with my colleague, Rebecca, on a short trip to visit a couple of our winter holiday hotels in the heart of the Austrian Alps, with the promise that - if we had time - I could try out cross-country skiing!
