The months of planning paid off at our recent Discovery Day. It turned out to be a great success, with customers travelling from all corners of the UK to join us to find inspiration for future holidays.
This was our sixth such event, and was attended by hoteliers and tourist board representatives from the widest-ever selection of countries – Ireland, Morocco, Slovenia, Turkey, India, Spain, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Portugal, Canada, France, Cyprus, Finland, Sweden and Slovenia. All this made for a truly multi-cultural atmosphere – all the more so with the delicious local specialities that were on offer from throughout Europe and beyond.
The cheeses, wines, cured meats and other delicacies weren’t the only highlight, however. The various presentations were a great hit, particularly that of our guest speaker, Chris Stewart of “Driving Over Lemons” fame, who entertained everyone with his tales of life in the Alpujarras in southern Spain.
From our own point of view, we really enjoyed the opportunity to meet up once again with so many hoteliers, and, even more importantly, to talk face-to-face with people about our holidays – and to put faces to the names of some of our regular customers!
So, thank you to everyone – stall-holders and visitors alike – for joining us. We trust you enjoyed it as much as we did and we very much hope to see you all again in another two or three years’ time at our next Discovery Day!
