self-guided hotel-to-hotel walking, luggage transported
gentle walks through verdant scenery
delicious Norman cuisine
features two highly-praised hotels
The rolling countryside of Normandy is perfect for raising dairy cattle and cultivating fruit orchards. The result is an abundance of fine cheeses, including Camembert, Livarot and Pont l’Evêque, plus fine ciders, perry and the famous Norman Calvados, all of which you can sample on this break. The mealtime 'trou normand', or Norman break, is a still observed in many restaurants and consists of a pause between meal courses in which diners partake of a glass of calvados.
Wonderful, leisurely walking complemented by fine cuisine and excellent wines made for a most relaxing break.
This popular, leisurely break features two of the most charming inns from our selection - the Auberge de l'Abbaye and the Petit Coq aux Champs - and varied walking through Normandy's most enchanting countryside. There are fine woodland sections, pelasant open fields and traditional villages where you can stop and relax in a cafe, or visit ancient churches and manors.
