Less than sixty kilometres south of Marrakesh rise the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Watered by the snow that caps the highest peaks for much of the winter, the valleys here are green and fertile, planted with apple, peach, cherry and apricot orchards, and dotted with isolated Berber villages linked by ancient mule trails that are still used by traders to this day.

You discover isolated Berber villages, lush valleys, pinewoods, dramatic escarpments and apple, peach, cherry and apricot orchards.

The walks you undertake with your guide are predominantly along tracks beside rivers and the sides of fertile valleys. There are few ascents and descents and you pass through authentic timeless villages on well-defined paths and mule tracks.

Extend your stay
For a complete contrast and some fresh sea air, add three nights in Essaouira on the Atlantic Coast. With its ancient walls and archways, sheltered bay and bustling harbour, it’s a delightful place to relax, to explore the winding cobbled streets of the medina, or to stroll along the seafront and sample delicious fresh fish dishes at open air restaurants after watching the fishermen bring in their catch. Stay at one of our carefully selected riads, stylish hotels reflecting both the atmosphere and charm of this lovely city and offering first-class hospitality. Please call for details.
