You stay at least two nights in each of three or more hotels chosen for their fantastic location, and travel between them by rail and/or boat or car. These journeys form an integral part of the holiday experience, revealing huge contrasts in scenery and rewarding you with awe-inspiring views. The splendid situation of each hotel means that they make excellent walking bases, and we provide maps and route notes (often catering for different ability levels) so that you can explore on foot. However, the choice is yours as to whether or not you wish to walk – you may prefer to visit local places of interest or simply sit back and admire your surroundings.
