Light-green meadows, bottle-green forests, yellow flowers, snow-capped peaks, houses of dark-brown wood, red geraniums in window-boxes – Switzerland delights with its colours.
Our week at Annie’s farmhouse remains my favourite of all the Inntravel holidays I’ve had over the years. I can still clearly remember the wonderful view of the Brienzer Rothorn, particularly beautiful in the early morning as the clouds gradually lifted to reveal the summit.

Right in the very heart of the country, Sörenberg is no exception. Nestling in a high valley, the village affords magnificent views across pastures grazed by cows to the Brienzer Rothorn (2,100 metres). It is a sleepy place, tending only to wake from its slumber in July and August, and as such makes a wonderful retreat for couples and families alike looking to enjoy the mountains (be sure to take your phrasebook!).
