Sardinia is rich and diverse, geographically, historically and culturally. The landscape ranges from rugged volcanic mountains to dense woodland, lush meadows and a coast of hidden coves and expansive dunes and beaches. Ancient stone nuraghi towers and Roman remains can be found throughout the interior, while medieval watchtowers stand sentinel along the cliff-tops.
La Collina’s location is perfect in so many ways – just 15 minutes’ drive from Alghero’s airport yet very peaceful; rural yet close to the sea. All in all, it makes a wonderful base for exploring not just the north-west corner of the island, but further afield, too.

Kay D’Souza, Regional Manager for Italy
You can explore all this – as well as some of the island’s inviting paths – from La Collina, an estate of beautifully renovated lodgings set in splendid isolation in the hills just north of Alghero.
Be sure to sample the island’s robust and flavoursome cuisine during your stay – traditional specialities include porcheddu or suckling pig; malloreddus (hand-made, gnocchi-like pasta); pane carasau (‘music paper’), a thin crispy bread; and fine cheeses that include the local pecorino.
