Northern Umbria is a land of gentle hills coated with olive and oak trees, of handsome medieval villages and of wide-open views over shimmering Lake Trasimeno. A week here can be as varied as you want it to be – spend one day visiting medieval villages guarded by castles, another walking in the hills and the next on a boat trip to one of Lake Trasimeno’s picturesque islands.
