Lush green rolling hills lead down to the confluence of two of France’s best-loved rivers, the Dordogne and the Vézère, an area which was occupied by prehistoric man for millennia, and whose legacy is the wealth of incredible cave paintings and engravings at Lascaux, Les Eyzies and Rouffignac.
What I like best about Les Collines Rouges is the location – it’s very secluded, yet you’re ideally placed for exploring the Périgord area with its rich prehistory and marvellous canoeing.
