Slovenia’s Gorenjska region boasts the country’s most inspiring views, including that of Lake Bled, where tiny Bled Island is almost a national symbol, and the wilder beauty of dramatic Lake Bohinj. Towering above are the most imposing peaks of the Julian Alps, including Triglav, the country’s highest mountain. Just as appealing, though, are the region’s secret hamlets and villages, where the pace of life has a beguilingly timeless feel.

Visit the magnificent Vintgar Gorge, or choose to spend a relaxing day around enchanting Lake Bled, visiting the imposing castle or rowing across the lake to ring the ‘wishing bell’ on the island.
     

This wonderful route allows you to discover these renowned landscapes on two wheels. Starting and ending at the foot of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps in the shadow of the mighty Storzic, you take in not only the two lakes, but also waterfalls, spectacular gorges, pretty villages and high plateaux (we arrange transfers up to avoid the ascents), all set against a majestic mountain backdrop.
