The cycles were excellent – comfy saddles and good ‘easy-to-use’ gears, plus an extremely helpful man in the cycle hire shop! Excellent, roomy but lightweight panniers.
The highlights were the brilliant approach to Ussé along a dead straight road with wonderful views of the château…. truly memorable! And the route along the river and the back roads into Chinon. Perfect cycling!

It was a joy cycling on quiet roads through beautiful French countryside where bikes are welcome and motorists are considerate to cyclists. It was comforting to see our luggage waiting for us each day. Very successful holiday.

On a remote country lane on a beautiful sunny morning, a deer and two fawns walked across the road 20m in front of us. Wonderful!

The cycle hire facility was very friendly and delivered our bikes on a Sunday as the shop was shut. The bikes were in brilliant condition.
